WOLVES, is a an idea of a new organisation, it aims to create positive, inclusive spaces for projects to happen within, weather that is in buildings, arts organisations, online or in person. It is anti discriminatory at its heart, and takes steps towards new and alternative structures and systems to ensure that it does not perpetuate the same damaging systems of the patriarchy, capitalism and white supremacy. It combines intersectional feminist principals with ecological and sustainable solutions to reimagine the way the cultural sector could operate.
WOLVES; named simultaneously after the sustainable impact the reintroduction of wolves has on an ecosystem, the nature of leadership within wolf packs, & the allegorical feminist use of the wolf. Wolves, real and mythological form a jumping off point for the content of work created through this project.
WOLVES aims to re-wild the cultural sector.
WOLVES asks what happens when people are given space and support to lead, to think, to breath, to create, and to work without a gendered patriarchal system imposed upon them. It brings people together to share a communal experience – whether that’s theatre, festivals, gigs, exhibitions or conversations. This company is a response to a frustration at the wider sector & wanting to shift the narrative around who gets to make work & for whom.
